Life is not about doing it all by yourself; it takes a guru to see a guru, a king to see a king and the best person that can see through you and guide you all the way up the ladder is a career coach. They do this as a job, this is what they are right at, this is what the coaches have been doing, they have changed people’s lives, and you are not any different.

Career coaches are not magicians, they are trained, they have practiced the art, they have read a lot of essays on career goals and they can make you feel your worth in life; understand your purpose and even work towards achieving that purpose.

Why you need a coach

Life is all education and enlightenment; some know some do not have an idea. We all need a coach. You might think you have all of it figured out, but you are wrong. Even the best of sportspeople never got to where they are without that person; coach looking out for the player. You can run across a soccer pitch the whole day and never be the best; you can stand with the coach at the middle of the pitch and learn the way of the game and become the best by complementing his guidance with practice.

Coaches exercise specific skills that make you get to the point of going for success. There are different career coaches, hard skill coaches, and soft skill coaches.

Hard skill coaches

A hard skill coach uses what is required for a given job. They are what anyone can term as a textbook coach. They teach precision. They are interested in the intellect of that particular person. They work towards helping you build on what you learned in school, training, apprenticeships and short classes. The skills could be mathematics, IT, Design, literature, science, name them.

However, hard skills will not get you to the point of success but only if supported by soft skills like people skills. These are skills you cannot just learn at school; you have to read about them, talk about them, practice them and even better get a soft skills coach to help you through this process. Both hard skills and soft skills are essential in the workplace. Here is information on both, with examples of each type of skill.

Soft skill coaches

Soft skills are intangible; they make up for what a person is, they are all that someone sees the moment you enter a given place. It all rolls down to respect, communication aesthetics and the ability to lead people.

The only way someone can get better soft skills is by having a coach that understands them. Coaches are human beings but doing this as a professional they have been trained to easily get into your mind and understand how you work, how you feel and how you reach and make the best out of it in ensuring you become better.

If you are a coach, connecting with the trainee in all the right ways can earn you a total package of a person ready to go out to the field and impress.

Winning their trust means that your trainee opens up. Being able to listen to them, you form the basis of your guidance. You get to know what works for them, what drags them down and the way they act in defense of themselves.

Winning the trust of a trainees means a trap has been set. The trainee is receptive of all that you administer. That is what you wanted to achieve, all that remains is encouraging implementation, checking up on the person and ensuring they have changed.
